Anti-insect

d2p Anti-insect technology for the protection of irrigation pipes

Many farmers depend on irrigation pipes and drip tapes to manage the feeding and watering of crops.  However, these life lines are under constant attack from insects.

d2p anti-insect masterbatch is included during the manufacturing stage of the plastic drip tape / pipe.. It is not sprayed or painted on the surface, the masterbatch allows for the active to be incorporated into the polymer matrix of the finished product,  so it remains effective against insects for the life of the product.  d2p anti-insect technology can protect the pipes from a wide range of insects including wireworms, thrips, crickets and numerous other insect pests.  Preventing damage prevents wasting water as well as time and money spent on repairs and replacements.

d2p Natural Anti-insect Technology

Symphony have developed a natural anti-insect technology masterbatch to protect packaging from penetrating insects like the Indian Meal Moth and pantry, grain and flour moths. These insects cause serious infestations of stored products in warehouses and food factories.  The females can lay between 150-400 eggs at a time with an entire life-cycle being completed in 30 days, resulting in 8 or more generations of the insect per year in optimal conditions.

Infestations can have a significant impact on the food industry’s bottom line, as these pests can destroy large quantities of food stocks, causing financial loss due to wastage and the need to replace damaged produce.  Additionally, the cost of pest control and preventative measures and structural damage caused by infestations add further economic burdens on the food industry..

These insects affect a wide range of food crops:

Rice, Nuts, Cowpeas, flour, All types of Beans, Chocolate, Pasta, Sorghum, Grains and Maize

Our mechanical insecticide is non-poisonous to mammals, fish and aquatic invertebrates
