Symphony – hand in glove with Wilko
January 30th, 2017
|Symphony Environmental are rolling up their sleeves ready for their entry into the household glove market, with the launch of the UK’s first d2p antimicrobial household gloves in Wilko stores nationwide and online at wilko.com.
The d2p treated gloves will be available in store and online at wilko.com from week commencing Monday 30th January 2017 in time for their spring cleaning promotions.
This innovative product will be sold under the Protector Health & Hygiene brand, and has been two years in development. The d2p active ingredient has been scientifically tested to kill Bacteria, Fungi, Moulds, Mildew, Algae and Yeasts.
Ordinary household gloves protect the hands during household cleaning tasks, but do not protect the gloves from microbial contamination, which can be transferred from one surface to another. Gloves are often stored in a cupboard or under the sink, an ideal place for microbes to grow.
Wilko are one of the leading retailers in the household market and are a third generation, family-owned business after more than 85 years of trading. JK Wilkinson opened the first Wilko store in 1930 and since then the company’s portfolio has expanded to 398 stores across the UK along with an online offering at wilko.com
Key product ranges include homewares and furnishings, garden and outdoor living products, DIY and decorating and health and beauty. Details of where to find Wilko stores, plus information on products can be found on their website at www.wilko.com
Wilko has secured the highest level of customer satisfaction on the high street, according to the UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI) July 2016.
Michael Laurier, CEO of Symphony Environmental said ‘With growing concern and public awareness about harmful bacteria and fungi, we believe that consumers will choose a product with added protection, at a similar cost to existing gloves.
There has been little or no innovation in this market segment for many years. We are very excited to be entering the market with a unique, competitively-priced, premium product, through one of the UK’s leading household retailers.
Our d2p antimicrobial technology is suitable for a wide variety of applications and we look forward to expanding our range of antimicrobial products in the near future’.
Symphony will be supporting the launch with consumer information, competitions and in-store promotions.
